Silent Film
A silent film is a film with no synchronized recorded sound, especially spoken dialogue. In entertainment silent films the acting and dialogue is commuted through muted gestures, pantomime and title cards.
The children developed their understanding of of silent films and the skills involved in creating one i.e. exaggerated gestures and facial expressions. They viewed examples of silent films and critique the purpose, skills and techniques of such films. They will work in groups to write storyboards, film and edit a silent film. “Lights, camera, action!”
